General Manager

Publish is a hub for the creator economy, dedicated to making content about Creators, for Creators. From our newsletter to our events, job board, and newspapers, our goal is to build a community of creators interested in learning about the creator economy. Co-founded by Colin and Samir and Smooth Media, our mission is to educate, empower, and encourage the next generation of creators.

We're seeking a General Manager to lead Publish and drive our growth. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the creator economy and a proven track record in media operations and editorial oversight.

What you’ll do:

• Oversee the editorial operations of the company’s product suite (newsletter, events, job board, merchandise) 

• Maximize editorial quality and revenue, focusing on projects where both can excel

• Act as a traffic director, coordinating efforts across the team and proactively seeking information throughout the business

• Support advertising partners and revenue operations, working with the Smooth & UTA sales reps

• Collaborate with the events team to execute strategy and develop new event concepts

• Oversee launch of multimedia and social content

• Pitch new products, focus on audience growth, and nurture the Publish brand

What we’re looking for:

• Experience in media, encompassing both operations and editorial aspects

• Strong organizational skills and an eye for quality writing

• Solid understanding of and passion for the creator economy

• Ability to balance editorial integrity with revenue goals

• Excellent communication and leadership skills
